"Aw this place stinks.." Thrisalaas curses the sewers
where he practically grew into a man. Thirty or more
years since he had been brought to Lapis the green eyed
half-elf had finally become so disgusted with his ways
he finally climbed out into the light.
"Now that's more like it... how long has it really been?"
He looks to the town scribe and find he hasn't even
left the sewers in more than two years. Much has changed
Lapis is still a busy little city, but not nearly as
many guards around. And even fewer merchants.
He sighs and walks into the bank withdrawing enough gold
to get him supplies so he can finally begin his life.
The next thing he knows is he is in the farmlands near
this odd little creature they call Scree. It seems
to be able to read minds or something of the sort. Thris
truly understands little of what is happening and finds
what he thinks is an elven guard to help him sort things
out.
At first she laughs at his terrible elven accent then
she explains the happenings. He asks her why she is
so dark and what those scales are. Amo explains her
history in the royal guard fascinating Thris to no end.
After some small journeys here and there in Anchorome
Thris finds himself encountered with a magnificent young
woman with flowing red hair. Jeline is what she is
called. Soon he becomes infatuated with her firey
aggression, her passion in battle, her command of fire.
Soon he finds out she is part red dragon and is going
through a major transormation. Thris sees how it is
ripping at her soul. One side of her wishes to remain
human while the other side lusts to become a powerful
red dragon.
Over the next few weeks he becomes more and more
attached to Jeline. He has even begun calling her
Fireball. The closer he got the harder she pushed
him away. Yet his heart kept driving him back to her
even after being set ablaze by her... even after her
devious grandfather nearly ripped his leg off... even
after she broke both of his arms at the command of her
grandfather.
You see recently her grandfather, a mighty red dragon,
came to Anchorome fleeing a fight with an ancient
white. He soon learned of her presence in the land and
claimed she needed to be taught the ways of her kin.
Being a fool of heart, Thrisalaas could not let her go
to this great evil. Soon he found there was little
choice.
Constantly he is searching to become more powerful to
break this dragon's hold over Jeline. His mind tells
him this is a useless battle but his heart continuously
pulls him back to her.
For a month now he has been searching for ways to
control the cold. He has been able to make himself
quite resistant to fire, learning from the attacks made
when Jeline was consumed by her rage. He even was
fortunate enough to find himself in the favor of a
divine being who rewarded him with a powerful wand that
could help him control the powers of ice and cold. To
his folly he was tracking his love one day through the
jungles and he was cornered by druids and tigers. He
had no other chance for survival but to use the wand.
He ended up destroying it in the terrible battle.
Jeline is now a disciple of her grandfather, the mighty
red, and has foresaken Thris. He wishes dearly to break
the old dragon's hold on her, yet what chance does a
mere half-elven peasant have. He even challenged her new
consort, Mandrin. They fought long and hard but neither
was the better. Jeline quickly ended the fight and
nearly crushed Thrisalaas under the weight of a magic
spell. It didn't matter to him. Nothing seems to matter
to him now. Deep down he would like to believe that his
Fireball is still there, but his greatest fears are
quickly becoming reality.
"I knew I should've stayed in those rotten sewers"
claims Thris as he hides among the trees watching Jeline
cry her tears of hopelessness. He whispers on the winds
"I will always be part of you Fireball... I will find
a way to help... Even if it kills me"

After a profitable struggle in the Xvart caves
Thrisalaas and Sam emerge by the graveyard.
Suddenly a dwarf with feet like lightning
appears, speeding about the area with strange
claims.
"Didn't you two see me back there?? Those
darned Xvarts broke me legs and you...you
just left me there to die didn't you?"
Sam and Thris look at each other puzzled and
confused. What was this odd little fellow
talking about? They saw nothing of the sort
in the caves.
Soon there was a familiar crisp warmth on the
air. Thris looks down the hill and his heart
wrenches upon the sight of Jeline approaching.
"These are the ones ma'am!" exclaims the dwarf.
Thris and Sam become defensive at this point
feeling that they have done nothing wrong.
They were clueless to the dwarf's prescence in
the caves.
Not wishing direct conflict with Jeline again
Thris begins to leave, "Odd companions you keep
these days, pawn" he snaps at Jeline. She
becomes easily enraged and begins her retaliations
as he cooly walks toward Lapis. At first Sam
wishes to continue the confrontation, but decides
against it seeing Thris continue their chore.
Both the dwarf and Jeline follow them ensuing the
conflict by the bridges to Lapis. Thris and
Sam stop for a moment to throw back a few words
of caution then continue into Lapis to sell
their new found treasures.
Soon after selling all of thier goods at the
marketplace, Sam decides to part ways with
Thris to tend to some personal business. The
two mighty warriors go their own way still
confused about the encounter with the flight
footed dwarf who recently had broken legs.
After a short period of deliberation, Thrisalaas
decides to head back to the place of the encounter
to see if Jeline is still there. To his surprise
she was lying lifeless upon the ground with
the dwarf standing above her.
"What have you done you disgusting little..."
"She was asking for it... she just wouldn't
stop fighting with me" the dwarf snaps back.
Thris thinks to attack but some unseen force
of great power holds him fast in his place.
A mind in his head shouts "please do not fear
I will not allow her to be hurt... have faith."
Beginning to understand Thris backs down and
the holding force loosens its grip. Jeline
rises from the ground and begins flaring at
the dwarf. He puts her down again. She does
nothing but get hotter and hotter. The heat
radiating from her body was so intense it
was causing gusts of wind in the area.
Without a drop of sweat Thris sits down and
begins watching the dwarf and Jeline in awe,
compassion, and fear.
Jeline screams "I feel no pain you fool!! There
is nothing you can do to me!" She attempts to
escape up the hill and the divine dwarf pulls
her back to the scene like a dog on an invisible
leash.
"What the hell are you doing? What are you?"
shrieks the amazingly beautiful half dragon.
A loud boom commands "SIT!" the divine messenger
now had complete control over the situation.
Jeline starts to retaliate but soon takes a
reluctant seat next to her forsaken lover with
a look of hatred and disgust at them both.
The dwarf approaches her "now lets see what
in here is causing all this hate..hmm..ah!"
Jeline sits on the ground now in fear and
submission "Wh-what what the hell..are you...
doing? What is that?"
Looking very nervous Thris thinks about going
to her side, but something tells him not to
interfere thus he only reaches out a caring hand
toward her. She rejects it in disgust and is
soon in deep trance with the dwarf.
"Ah! Here it is! See this? Lets take this out."
exclaims the divine little fellow.
Jeline's eyes turn from the glowing red magma
color to their natural deep, engulfing brown.
"Where.. is this?" she questions her seemingly
new found location. "No more... no more" she begs.
The dwarf states "there.. now go to him." looking
at Thris "and you! You stop agrevating her when
she is like this!" Thris gulps and nods at the
dwarf's great command.
After a moment the dwarf is gone from the scene.
Jeline begins to weep as Thris holds her tightly
against him. They both say a teary eyed apology
and bask in the moment of togetherness.
A stout little halfling tugs on Thris's shirt
"Hey she shouldn't linger her... the guards still
have a bounty on her capture for the incident
with that farmer's cow." Bull quickly reminds
them of the actions that Jeline performed while
under her grandfather's influence.
"Oh what have I done?" she whimpers.
Thrisalaas smiles and says "It will be fine, stay
here... Bull keep an eye out for the guards.
I will be back shortly"
Thris returns after a few minutes and tells
Jeline that the charges against her will be
dropped if she apologizes to the farmer and
pays him for his losses. They quickly make
their way upon the farmland and knock on the
farmer's door. The farmer gives her a quick
reprimand and then, recieving his reparations
and apology, he gives her a quick smile and
says "good to see you're feeling better young
one."
