The Young half-elf wandered about the streets of Lapis Port as if she was a displaced tourist. She gawked at all the buildings and the great pools of water thoughout the docks and city. She watched people at a respectable distance observing their goings about. A friendly sounding man stopped her, " Hello, there young lady. You look lost?" She looked him up and down and simply said," yes" dispassionately. The Man considered her a moment. The woman was dark almost olive in appearance like a woman from calamsham yet, her eyes were green and hair red. It was an odd combination of features. She also sported a long bright, shiny silver lock in her hair. It didn't look fake? Her delicate ears were pointed but she was tall and stocky for an elf. She wore a mage robe and looked confused. She was not bad looking but neither was she a charmer. Her mannerisms seemed a bit odd in some way. He couldn't place it.

The man smiled again, " Young lady?" Her attention drew back to him, " My name is Ringo. do you have a name?" She looked at him confused a moment and if he read her right a bit taken aback by the question. She looked at him a moment and said, "Yes".

He shook his head, " Do you need anything then?" She looked around again but replied, "I don't know as of yet. I must look at this........city? and see. Most likely I will need a star chart and a sextet to start off so, I can see where I am." The Man considered her words and shrugged," Well then there is a camp to the north of the city there may be people that can help you there. adieu, then. whoever you are." He stepped away and walked briskly off. He had no more time for crazy mages that seem to come from all over fearun. This one may not have been the strangest but certainly was strange.

Sierra wandered into the camp to find a halfling woman. The Woman spoke a greeting. Sierra greeted her in kind. They struck up a small conversation while she weighed her position. She wondered if her parents were testing her in some way. While she spoke with one part of her mind to the halfling another part was trying to figure things out. The night before Mother and Father were having words is what they called it. Mother and Father didn't often have words but last night they were loud. Sierra could hear them with the door closed. When she woke up she woke up on the roof of a building looking out over the ships docked in this city. She found a way down and started exploring.

The halfling woman mentioned her name. It was Veri. Father said halflings were often thieves. He said that if she met one keep a hand on her purse. Mother said that halflings were fun but kender were better to explore with. Mother and father often had different opinions. It sometimes confused her.

It grew late. She looked up at the stars not recognizing any configuration she had studied in the past. She looked at Veri and said, " I really need a star Chart and a sextet so I can trace the passage of stars and know where I am?" Veri jumped up and offered to take her to the library. Sierra accepted. The dashed off to the library while a strange mist started to form near camp. As she went threw it she started feeling really confused but shook it off. The pair came to the library. She looked up a star chart and took it the old wizened man there told her to bring it back soon. She agreed and went back to camp with the halfling.

When they got back to camp the Mist had spread. It had a confusing effect many of the guards were doing different things not becoming of humans. There was a woman screaming I see your light Dawn bringer. She wore a gold robe. One guard started chasing her and going on one knee saying she was the most beautiful thing hes ever seen. He proposed to her. He was obviously taken by the mist. Sierra made sure she kept her distance from the fog. An elf got caught in the mist and gave her away to the guard. She thought this funny in a way and spoke out, " So I come to this city to be given away to a guard I don't know to a man i don't know within a day!?" A large group of people there (not including the guards and woman in the robe ) figured out the mist was coming from a cemetery. She was asked to join. Thinking this might be the test her parents put her too she joined.

They ventured to the graveyard to meet undead. She thought they were undead. they moved and looked like what the books she studied described. They all fought their way to the bottom of the crypts to find a Woman or undead. She wasn't sure which. They fought her a long time. She wanted to turn them into more undead. The Woman mentioned a god named Shar. Shar must be this places Orcus. They finally killed the woman to find she had set a bottle on an alter.

Sierra studied it closely figuring out it was a very rare substance called an ever smoking bottle. One of the members of the party put some wax like substance on the vial to try to cap it. It still smoked around the ends and threw holes in the wax he made. Sierra got out her alchemist pestal and bowl, chipped plaster off the deteriorating walls and crushed it to a fine powder. Someone gave her water. she slowly poured the water in while working the dust with her hands making a sticky paste. She then coated the top of the vial with the paste until she saw no bubble getting out.

They took the vial to Oghma's temple. She knew Oghma a god of books. they gave the vial to the priest. She waited awhile to be teleported in the hall or for one of her parents to show up but neither did so she went downstairs. One woman also stayed. Her name was Carol. Sierra remembered another calling out to her. She answered. Names seem to mean nothing to these people.

She gave the wizened looking man back the chart then looked at the library. Where to start? she picked a shelf at random and took 5 books from it. She opened the book and studied each page a second or two then moved to the next. The Old man had been watching her. He walked up and said, "Please stop a moment lass. What exactly are you doing?" she looked up and said, " reading". The old man got quiet upset. He took the first book and opened it, " Reading you say!?" She nodded. He huffed, " Well let us test your 'reading'. What is this book about?" Her eyes became distant a moment then she chattered off, "Continental Chronology of Anchorome creatures by Hubert Mason. This Tomb........." The old man says "Stop!", She stopped.

He looked at her wondering then came up with an idea it seemed. He flipped the pages, " page 287." Sierra concentrated her eyes loosing focus a moment then read the page word for word. Her eyes shifting slightly right to left as she spoke. The wizard dropped the book," Let me examine you." He checked her eyes, and cast a spell "um-mm your normal for a half elf. there seems to be no magic. I've never encounter a page at a glance reader before. I've heard of them...........Do you understand what you just read? " She calmly explained the habitat and family life of the Dire Wolf explaining it wasn't much different from a regular wolf pack except they were inherently evil and more intelligent than regular wolves relics from a time before humans walked Toril.

The Old man started asking questions, " Who are you?" She looked at him aghast. "Um-mm not a good question I see. where are you from?"
"An Island"
"Who is your father?"
"father"
"What is his name?"
"father"
"Are you playing games with me young lady?"
"no"
" Who is you mother.....never mind"
"what does your father look like?"
" Hes a dark man with black hair. He's wise and takes care of me well"
" um-mm what does your mother look like?"
" I don't know"
" did she leave your father?
"no"
" why don't you know what she looks like?"
" Shes different every time she comes home"
" What do you mean?"
"sometimes she's human, others an elf, other times shes a dragon, daemon, or bear"
"umm, You may read the library but only a shelf a week. I have some ideas to consider"
" OK"

She walked out to explore more of Lapis Port. Phineas Whoopee muttered something and took out some books to read himself as she left.

Sierra had gone threw the xzart caves several times. sometimes she went with people, but most times with her protector Silk, a large black panther, and a dire wolf she had charmed so she could summon him. She was proud that she could go almost to the bottom of the xzart caves without aid from others.

Her abilities with her spell craft were growing rapidly. the few that knew her were surprised by her strength in spell craft. From barely being able to cast the smallest of spells; she grew in weeks to casting powerful abjurations and conjurations. She grew tired of exploring the local caves and cemetery quickly. She wanted to explore more of this world and its wonders. Wandering around the farmlands looking at sites she met a farmer that was having problems with ants, very big ants as long as she was tall. She told the farmer she might be able to help and slipped down a rather large hole she found in his fields.

It was very dark she had Silk and the wolf with her. Their body's surrounded her protectively. She couldn't pick up much infra-vision with her limited abilities to see in that spectrum, so she cast a small light spell on herself. As soon as she cast the spell Ants surrounded her and attacked the three. The canine and cat fought bravely while she cast protective spells on them and killed the surrounding ants but not without cost. Sierra had to heal them while fighting.

The three moved down a few tunnels to find more ants and some gems. Each time they fought them they survive but sometimes just barely. Sierra took a side chamber to rest. Her sharp ears picked up a scraping noise. She looked around and saw nothing. No ants seemed to haunt this small side chamber. Then she looked up. suspended around the ceiling were ants surrounded by silk like cocoons. She referenced her reading knowledge on what could make such cocoons. She came up with two things a giant silk worm or a very large spider. She did not believe that a silk worm would prey on these giant ants but a spider........yes it had to be, but where did it hide?

She dispelled the wolf sending it back home. She then told Silk to guard the entrance to the chamber. Sierra checked her supplies and her spell book. She drew a triangle within a circle then took a small brazier placing it in the center. She then stepped into the center with the brazier and lit a small fire with flint and steal. Adding incense she chanted a fairly complex incantation. Her mind went out and up finding more and more silk ,then a hole in the wall layered with many layers of silk. She felt the form that layered within the hole. She drove into its mind, felt its alien presence. The Spider was somewhat intelligent but not like the cats she knew. it was different mostly driving forces guided its actions: food, breed, spin, wait. She sent it pictures into its mind. The pictures consisted of She and it walking threw the caves killing ants and hanging them up for a grand feast at a later time. Sierra felt warm thoughts come back to her and knew she had charmed the spider as she had previously charmed the wolf. The spell worked.

She had figured that if the spider had lived there long enough to get this big; it would have no problem killing an ant. If this spider was armored in a skin made of stone, its vitality, coordination and strength increased by her conjurations, it would have no problem devastating the ant life in the colony. As long as she let it feast It would preform the tasks she needed.

She retreated to the surface and sent silk to guard the farm. She had made contact with the spider all she need now is a representation of the spider and a strand of its silk, which she snatched on the way out, to call it whenever she wanted. She carefully made the small representation with wax, and wrapped the silk around it. If this final part of the spell worked then she could continue in the ant colony comfortably sure they could explore the whole thing. she said a short incantation and the spider was teleported to her. she smiled, This summoning was the most complicated spell she was able to achieve. Sierra touched the spiders mind again feeling the warm feelings of the alien friendship she formed. Sierra then set about studying a new spell repertoire and rested releasing the spider for a short time.

When she was ready she recalled the spider, sheathed it in stone, and enhanced its natural abilities.

This time they blurred threw the caverns in a whirlwind of fighting. Sierra and the spider, She with a quarterstaff en-spelled with fire, the spider with the enhanced armor and abilities Sierra en-spelled upon it. Occasionally the spider would wrap one of its kills in silk and crawl up to the wall to hang the prize. The ants it took were poisoned but still alive. She watched in fascination as they struggled in their cocoons. They made their way to the Queens chamber. At first the fighting was easy. they went quickly defeating many defenders and larvae. The queen appeared. The bloated ant fought bravely, the struggle mounting into a horrendous battle between the queen and the two alien beings in her chamber. the fight took near 30 minutes before the queen succumbed to Sierra and her summons. Now that the queen was dead Sierra took all the eggs, and the few gems she found making her way back to the farmer. They fought stragglers of the ant colony along the way easily defeating all. The farmer rewarded them with a heavy bag of gold, and some not too sincere thanks. Sierra was surprised by that. Then she thought about it and giggled. The reaction certainly fit this strange world she had found herself in.

After Cash left her at camp Sierra, or (fawn) as she was known by now, Looked to the north. Cash had convinced her not to go to the temple and deliver the necklace, however the northern lands did interest her. She packed up her things and left to see what was there. Her sometimes companions at camp said another city. The books she had read said that its name was Cleaverness. This Cleaverness was shrouded by dark mysteries according to the books. they said it was a city of lycanthropes and Cyric worshipers. She decided to see for herself what this place was like.

she came upon the bugbears defeating the aggressive creatures easily. Along the way she found a caravan. The owner asked her to find his missing extra plane creatures. She told him yes and moved on. She laughed she was very well suited for this task so if she sensed them she would take them back.

She defeated a few more bugbears and moved on. along the road she got her first sign of them. Large bulky human like creatures with tusks coming out of their lower jaws. Fawn hid and watched them noting every feature. She referenced them in her mind and read there that they were Orcs. Orcs were even more aggressive, and shrewd than Bugbears, wanting nothing better than to destroy civilized peoples taking over their lands. It also said orcs were good archers. She read and noted everything, sat down and made a plan adjusting her spell repertoire. She called Flower her faithful summoned bear, buffing themselves up they headed out to meet the orcs. She called out getting ones attention, and tried to speak. As it swung its ax in her direction, she noted the books were true and fought with Flower defeating it. They moved on clearing the orcs out finding the surrounding areas they ventured to getting colder. It grew so cold it started to hurt Fawn to walk. She enspelled herself with a cloak against the elements and moved on to Cleaverness.

She toured the city finding werewolves indeed roamed about. Again she tried to speak with them. Unfortunately all they had on their minds was ripping her apart. she fought a few killing them. She left the city deciding it would not be wise to tour it further. Making her way back she set upon orcs that seemed to have some form of territory along the road. About half-way to the caravan she had to stop. She became dizzy and the world turned black for a moment. When she came to she called Flower back and set off up and down the small hill. Orcs were waiting she defeated them easily now. In the distance she saw a werewolf. and then another and another. The wolves plowed into them full force. Using her magic and Flower they barely defeated the werewolves.

Fawn sat down again and studied her spell book for this new menace coming up with a better plan to defeat this new menace. She called Flower to her. Flower now with many abjuration spells, while Fawn invisible they hit the Werewolves. It didn't go well there were too many of them . Flower and Fawn fought and ran with ambush tactics back to the caravan. The Caravan owner started using bardic magic to help her. Fawn realizing they would be defeated fled south only to find more werewolves. She took a stand upon a rock and fought bravely. Silk came out of the shadows to help her but again there were too many. Realizing that all was lost she purposely fell down as if dead. She tried to control her breathing until the Werewolves thought no more about her. The ploy worked she half crawled half walked out of their way and made it back to Lapis.

Now in Lapis Port she resupplied. Looking around she saw no one she knew to help her. She bought powerful spell scrolls, food, water and other materials for the road. An entire army of Werewolves moved toward Lapis and it was up to her to stop them all.

She made her way quickly to the area the werewolves stopped chasing her. As she passed the bridge and looked up the hill she saw them and this time she was ready. Buffing Flower and herself, spell scrolls in hand she hit them again this time with a new spell, cloudkill. Most went down like Wheat under a scythe. The most powerful did not instantly die. Those Flower took out while Fawn hit them with magic missiles, lightning and other evocations she had recently learned. The fights were hard but destroying most of the weaker werewolves helped immensely. They made their way to the caravan clearing all the were wolves out of the plains. then out of the Cleaverness foothills. Fawn was proud of the job she and flower succeeded in doing. The caravan owner had died. She vowed to tell the priests at Lathander's of his fall for them to come out and raise him.

Heading back she looked at the road to the Camp where the Barbarian tribe lived. She sighed a moment. The wolves had originally come from that area last time she found the camp. She looked again at Lapis and how easy it would be just to go back to a place of safety and tell everyone there was trouble. She turned right and headed to the barbarian encampment. At the encampment She found what she had hoped she would not find. She was lucky in one aspect. The werewolves had just entered the camp. With her spells she rallied the men and women of the camp in a battle that lasted the entire day. At the end of the day both Fawn and Flower were sorely wounded. The Barbarians nursed them the night back to health. The Thane thanked her profusely for helping save the camp. She rested and looked to the woods beyond camp.

Those woods were famous for its undead and Elves that gave no quarter defending their land. She packed up making sure she had everything; Bid the Tribe good bye and set off into the woods. By now she had the system down and had chased a virtual army of werewolves back to the forest where they had mysteriously sprung up. She moved quickly to the large glade near the entrance of the forest. The Werewolves were waiting but unsure of themselves. They attacked timidly waiting for the spells of Fawn to encompass them. She came on with cloudkill and an enchanting mist that confused them while they died. She had to retreat a bit against the leaders who stayed well out of her spells effect, going around it to find her and Flower. They cleaned out the stragglers after the main battle and moved to the canyon entrance to the Proscador woods. In the canyon things went well again not only did they defeat the werewolves, Skeletal warriors aided them. Fawn and flower quickly moved up the canyon killing anything that attacked them. At the mouth of the canyon on the other side they found more werewolves, defeated them and rested quietly.

After a short rest they cautiously moved forward for the fights with the werewolves were getting tougher. They saw the first drew it to them and killed it. Fawn using many spells. They moved forward again and saw more. As they started to attack a great beast of a werewolf ran forward toward Flower. In Two blows Flower was nearly gone and vanished according to the spell Fawn had designed which had a fail safe so Flower would not die. The great beast ran up to meet her. She swung her staff and then..........She was in the temple of Lathander's sorely wounded.

they patched her up as best they could all the while she protested that she had to get back. Lathander's released her. Fawn first went to Lomeland to ask for help. He nearly cowered when he heard the words werewolf. She got exasperated and took off to the caravan driver. she hopped a ride to Dandelion dale then set off for Bahamut's. She asked Bob for his help to defeat the Army of Werewolves before they could organize again. He pfft at her. She looked at him and simply said............FINE.......... She then went to Bahamut's to ask their help. They laughed at her. She took her supplies and went back to the barbarian camp. From there to the strange magic circle in the woods. There she made herself ready. She called Flower and made her ready. They took off toward the canyon.

The werewolves had not returned. That was a good sign that she had devastated their vanguard. As she came out of the mouth of the canyon all was quiet. They snuck up on the first werewolf and hit it lightly with missiles, drew it back and killed it. Again they snuck up when the Big fellow saw them again. Flower went down quickly. Fawn feinted death again and managed to fool the Huge werewolf for a few moments. She tried to get back up and out of the area quickly. She wasn't quick enough. Lathander's walls surrounded her in an instant. Frustrated and grim she put a message on the local board that there was a werewolf army gathering and that none of the good people she pleaded with would help.

She went back to camp and collapsed from Fatigue

Fawn, Meri and Val went the the north lands to investigate the orc plague along the roads. They found a cave full of orcs. Fawn had been able to find two new allies in her study of this new land and its magic. The first, A Dire Tiger named Thunder, The other she called from Celestria. She didn't think she could do it but when the ritual of summoning was done there in the circle was a Lantern Archeron. She was elastic. So much so she almost let the circle get marred and let it escape. She spoke with it in its language making deals with it for what it wanted. In this case It wanted to see her do good deeds. She agreed and it agreed. This time she had to catch some sunlight and put it in a vial for quick calling. That part was hard. She made the idol of it and put the small vial with her things. That was previously.

Now the three people along with Thunder were exploring. They Drove in a few tunnel ways and found a few chambers . They also found out the Orcs were mighty hunters in their own caves and had to back out. Heading back to Lapis they found a large pile of gold just sitting on the ground. How much? twice as high as Fawn was tall. Val and Meri wanted to take the gold and leave. Fawn was unsure. Someone had to have left it there. Did the Orcs kill a caravan and hide the evidence fearing retribution from Lapis Port. She didn't know enough about the people and orcs to know. Was this some form of trap. That was more likely or a test. She was Leary of the hundreds of thousands of gold piled up.

Val distracted her for a moment wanting to give her her share. Meri and he had already divided it into piles. She told Val her misgivings. Val didn't like that too much. She told the two she needed help in deciding. She summoned Blitz to her. As the lantern Acheron showed up Val ran away about 50 meters shouting curses. Fawn thought that a bit odd but then again creatures from the planes must be as strange to these people as the animals here were strange to her.

She asked for advice from Blitz. Blitz told her, she should try to find the owner and if she could not she should give it all to the needy. Fawn having no real concept of gold or money except the fact she could buy things and people here often sought it out, thought long and hard on blitz's words, She agreed with him and decided to do it. Just when Val was about to split her share with Meri, Fawn said she would take hers. Then She told them about the conversation with Blitz. Val scowled but said it was her choice and gave her 171,000 gold which she assumed was her share.

While going back to Lapis, Fawn carefully prepared a conversation with the clerics of Lathander in her head. They went into the city and split up. Each going to where they wanted to use the gold she assumed. Fawn went to Lathander's. There she spoke to Wallis the local priest that ran the small store for the church. She told him she had found something very valuable. She asked if there were any caravans to Cleaverness that were unaccounted for. The answer was no.

She then asked if she gave him this item of value. Would he and the church try to find its owner? If no owner could be found would they give the gains from the item to the needy of Lapis Port. Wallis Considered it and agreed. She gave the gold to him all 171,000. He was very surprised and said he had never seen that much in one place before. She simply said yes and left.

She made sure not to mention Val or Meri. She felt that it was up to them to decide their own conscience. She put the entire thing to memory and went out to the farmlands for her most complex summoning yet.

This time she had to draw two circles. One to protect herself and one to hold the creature. The Ritual Took most of the night to prepare. When she was ready she lit 3 braziers around the circle of holding and one in her circle. The guard at the entrance looked very itchy. For the first time he looked very concerned about what she was doing. Even with previous summonings. She cast the invocation of the heavens as father called it. A great light came down from the sky. When it cleared there in the circle was a Hound archeron. They measured each other for several minutes. The archeron struck the circle barrier once with its sword while Fawn concentrated. It then spoke in the language of the heavens, "I am not pleased by this mortal what is it that you want." She was a bit surprised by its attitude so surprised in fact her will almost failed. If the Acheron felt it he did not let on that he did. She refocused and said, "Service".

The archeron seemed more interested in its prison than her but she learned from her parents this was a ploy. It looked at her again then responded, " Service? You called Celestria for service? Why young one. You do not fit our path. I see your nimbus plain as you see light.......Yes you are inherently a good half-elf.........but............Your nature is inherently random. Chaos reflexes back on you in some way. What way this chaos shows on the outside I do not know yet but I am leery of binding myself in service to one such as you. You should have called on Olympus or Valhalla. You have the power to call a Valkyrie." She listen to it but concentrated. If her concentration broke the barrier would weaken and break. she knew she was pushing her limits. She responded to the celestial, " The words of the spell were of Celestria this I know. My parents never taught me how to touch Valhalla or Olympus Only Celestria.

It was the archeron's turn, " What is your name?" she retorted, "What is yours?" He laughed, "See you shadow yourself,Why? I will tell you my name. It is Skylark. Now young one what is yours?"
"Fawn"
He concentrated, " That's a Lie"
That surprised her again, " how do you know?"
"Because I have the gift of paladins. I know when someone is lying." He looked at the barrier and smiled. she became unsure of herself for a moment then concentrated on the creature. As far as she knew her will and the barrier still held him. It was his turn to get a look of surprise going on he suddenly said, " Your not a prime creature are you. Your nimbus I thought it was off you were born on the astral plane?" She smiled " yes. I am an astral being other than having the fate of two mage parents that lived there I am the same as others here." The archeron grunted and got thoughtful."

After a time they matched wills again. Fawn didn't know she lost the battle long ago but she felt she was in control. The archeron started again, " I will make this pact with you young mage. Because I feel its in the best interest of this world to do service. I will let myself be called by you on one condition." he paused. She had a sinking feeling then that the game might be over but went through the motions and tried to concentrate," What is the condition?"

The archeron smiled, " I want your given name and the truth this time. If you give me it I will serve." She had to think on this a long time. Her parents had taught her names were powerful and she should never let anyone know her given name. She did not know her true name.......but did anyone? ......she didn't know. She finally said, " OK I will give you my name it is Sierra." The archeron nearly jumped right against the barrier in surprise then got his wits about himself. A powerful name indeed. It means Beautiful and it has more meaning than you will probably understand. I will serve but remember to hold back the chaos inside you little one."

She said, "Agreed" The archeron walked out of the circle. She swore under her breath. She had lost the game but won the service.

Fawn sat on a log in the farmlands. There was much to write. She had not written in her journal for awhile, because too much and grabbed at her attentions the past few weeks.

She starts writing.

Shortly after I posted on the community board about the werewolf menace, I was answered by one Shaia. Shaia, a reference I found easily, is an elven mage that somehow became a full dragon according to Lapis port records. This shaia has traveled with many adventurers that are famous in these realms including the matriarch Ammothrowen, The current head of the golden katana Darias, Randyl and Seryne two nobles from near Waterdeep, a city across the sea, Ruiduriari a local leader of a thieves guild and Thrisalaas a mutated soldier that has the ability to make things cold around him. It sounds very much like the adventuring guild a Random Few in Sigil.

I entered camp on the appointed hour to find many people making preparations for a long expedition. I quietly watched them. Some asked questions. I politely answered the questions as generally as I can. Most ignored me some seemed to focus on me at various points. I avoided touching anyone's mind thinking it impolite. Shaia interested me the most especially the long history of brilliance and despair in the Lapis port records about her.

We broke camp and started on the journey. The first point of contact for myself being the circle in the woods. Its the closest landmark I know that is the right direction. At times I lead the band to the right avenues to approach. We fought many werewolves going up to the circle. I wave to the Thane, who acknowledged me with a quick smile and nod, while others are busy fighting werewolves. we arrive at the circle and rested a moment. From there mostly I am lost and must follow others. We work our way to a dark forest filled with undead and a sealed tunnel. My spells seem to work sporadically now. I do not try to go into the minds of the undead for fear their taint would touch me. I do go into the minds of the Werewolves having sporadic effects. Some I can control others I cannot. Their wills being stronger than mine.

The adventurers blow the tunnel with a black powder like substance my mother calls black powder. I smell its particular scent in the wind. The tunnel blows and we see an entrance of sorts among all the rubble. We clear it and go inside to a small pond. We jump in one at a time. I being one of the last and not knowing much about swimming.
I take a wrong turn under the water and end up in a long tunnel filled with werewolves. Thankfully I am using an illusion spell. Illusion seems to be my worst school of practice, usually weak and ineffective. The illusion holds long enough for me to grab a breath and go back under to find the rest of the people.

I found a shore with footprints and followed them eventually finding part of the group. I fell many times wounded now my will and spells helping less and less against these strong willed werewolves. in time we find a huge chamber that seemed to be the base for this beast that controls the werewolves. I stay back and let the famous ones among our crowd fight the hulking giant.

They seem to know this beast like a friend. After destroying its minions and cornering it. The beast changed into the form of an elf. That is when they call me to them. Shaia seems to be their leader. She asks me to dominate the beast. I am unsure. the last time I tried to dominate something as strong I lost the battle and had to make a deal with the celestial. I ask her ritual or magic. She says to me co-operative ritual. I flip thew my mothers books and find a proper presentation. I draw the circles around with the using all my traveling braziers. I knew it would be difficult. After preparations I call the beast and dive into its mind with the others backing me up with their essences.

I hold the beast while they do what they must. The beast fought with me making me falter many times. There is something behind his rage ancient. It cannot be quenched with words or actions it runs deep through his lifetime. I do not go there to be caught up in such rage and hate would have me loose my mind. I concentrate on him and his actions holding him for the others to work on. The beast fought against the barrier and our minds. It broke me once but I gained control again, a back and forth fight. Sometimes I would hold him sometimes he would break and attack me. I was too close to the barrier at times the beast striking out and knocking me conscience. The others lift me up and have me hold him again with Shaia's mind helping protect me.

In the end we kill the beast and bring the body to some sacred place only they knew. I wandered looking at the portals and examining them. My mind is not shattered but wounded. Father said there is a price to pay for the gifts mages receive. I know my personal price now. It is my mind and the harm others give me in mental battles. Enchantment is my gift. It is strange neither my mother or father are very adept at the school, while i seem to gravitate to it. I can throw any spell but i have noticed my illusions are much weaker compared to the other schools so not a full enchantress but one that has a strong affinity for that discipline.

I will work on these things to bring my enchanting effects to their full peak.

For a few weeks after the expedition. I wandered sometimes with others. My strength in magic improving almost daily. I was at the farmlands when approached by the beast. I found his name to be Arrilin. He terrified me. I knew him and did not know how much he knew my mind. The battle lasted long and was intense. He departed saying I should not practice in the farmlands. I've never lost control of my magic there and was unconcerned by it. Somehow he lived and had just gotten out of the Lapis prison. A small price to pay for the death and slaughter he commanded the months he attacked Lapis Port.

Val showed me his true image. He is drow. I have conflicting thoughts about him now. I had hoped he was a dark elf and not a drow. He seems to want to do good for others and is not pampered by social rules. Is it a farce to use me as his mage. I do not know but I do know why he reacted poorly to Blitz. I am unsure of this. Father has seen many black robes in the past but he uses caution with them even more so than white robes.

I have also encounter a school for the arcane being built in the far north. Dwarves work on it. Recently I've ranged out from the cities of Lapis and Cleaverness to find frost giants and dryads, Nymphs and Elementals.

It has been many months since last I entered this journal. A lot had happened and yet not much has happened. An oxymoron of circumstances. For many weeks red swellings covered my face. I felt many changes being made inside my body. Mother had told me this would happen but I did not believe her. She was vague only saying that I would grow from girl to woman. Some of the changes made me sick other changes made me hurt. Some like those pimples as Thorto said were just irritating.

Recently two things attracted my attention. The first incident was in the Commons of Lapis port. Thorto, myself and Sa'esha were in the commons talking quietly amongst each other when I smelt and heard magic in the air. I looked about for a source but could find no one casting. After studying the area for a bit I thought i saw a mouse cast then run and hide. I alerted my companions to this. At first Thorto thought i was crazy while Sa'esha looked around. We finally found the mouse. I tried to cast domination on it and failed. I knew then that it was in fact a caster. whether a wizard shape changed or a freak of nature I was not sure. Sa'esha had to leave. We bit her adieu and got to the task of figuring out the mouse. We cornered it somewhat and I spoke to it in animal. I replied in common so Thorto could hear. It said it was in fact a mouse named mickey that could spell cast. It was having a problem it seemed that a certain cat chases after mickey every time a merchant that owned it came to town. Mickey did have a problem remembering the name of the merchant. Thorto and I coaxed it out of him it was Cooper from Dandelion dale. We promised we would take care of it and took the caravan to the dale.

Once at coopers Thorto tried to convince Cooper not to let his cat chase the mouse in the commons. I thought it quite funny because that's what cats do. I have lived with cats all my life and watching the two talk I thought it quite funny. Cooper thought the dwarf was crazy and if I had not known the mouse was as intelligent as he was I would have thought Thorto crazy too. Thorto threw his hands up in exasperation so I then started talking to the cat in animal. After much work convincing the cat that the mouse could indeed hurt him and he shouldn't play or try to eat it, we set back off to the commons. Thorto had to leave wandering off to some unknown venture.

I went back to Mickey and spoke with him. He did not seem convinced that the cat would not chase him again and neither was I. I did tell him about the cat promising not too. We spoke some more. I tested his spell abilities. the poor mouse could not handle transmutation spells or some of the powerful adjurations that could keep the cat away. I did ask Mickey if he could summon another creature. He thought about it and tried a spell. He produced a huge earth elemental. I whispered that he could use that spell to chase away the cat. He was very pleased, and thanked me for thinking of a way of protecting himself. I also got my kit out and fashioned a very tiny wax and twig doll for him pulling a hair out of my own head i worked it into the doll and en-spelled it so that he could call me if he had any other trouble. The mouse could not pick up the small figurine. He showed me his nest under the big tree in the commons. It was under one of its roots. I removed some debris and found a hole. Sticking the doll as far back as I could, I gently nestled it into a good position so he would have room for it. Mickey thanked me by changing my armor slightly with his magic. I am happy to have made a friend.

The second thing that happened is that just yesterday I was walking into the farmlands and found Val. I had wanted to speak with him for many weeks now but could not find him. I found him with some of his friends. I asked to speak with him and it didn't bother me that Ferra was around.......well at least not until I heard her reactions to what I was saying. I discussed with Val about his obsession with power and tried to convince him that powerful people have a responsibility to help others that do not share in that power. I tried to convince him that power was a gift bestow on some by the gods. He did not take it well. He misdirected me to the orcs where we fought the evil creatures in their caves. Near the bottom Val left us. I wanted to go further. Lomir went with me however Ferra told me she would not fight drow and left. Lomir and I went deep into under-dark walking through miles of tunnels defeating Val's kin. Powerful mages and other things. We finally came to a tower that held a man in a cage. We defeated his jailer and released him. After that we found our way to Rodon's temple and escaped the depths of the land of darkness. We parted ways near Lapis. I still worry about Val. I really don't know what to do.

These things bring my journal up to date. My magic is not increasing as quickly and is growing at a more comfortable pace. I have become a little more confident in myself now that things are moving more slowly.
