"The History of Lapis Port" Chapter 1
by Silverius Savant the Sage

Anchorome developed independently from Faerun. For the most part it is a vast area with nomadic barbarian and gypsy clans, and smaller villages. However there has been small pockets of civilization that have been around as long or longer than those on Faerun.

Lapis Port was built upon ruins of an older city by remnants of Balduran's Flaming Fist Mercenaries who moved there after Fort Flame was destroyed, and explorers from Amn.
The two groups, unlikely to band together, did so to defend against the Wild Elves and Druids of Lapis Lake who continue to war with the city because they dislike the encroachment of the city and the civilization of Lapis Port.

Currently Lapis Port is run by a Governor and group of Paladins who follow Torm.
They dislike the seedy element of the docks district but are forced to put up with it to avoid division among the citizens of Lapis Port of which all are needed to defend against the Druids and Elves, as well as the evil that plagues the land.

There has been established in the Governors Mansion a guild hall for all Paladins. While the Governors elite guards are Paladins of Torm, all Paladins followers of any Deity may join the Knights of the Radiant Sword.
An order established to keep Lapis Port and all of Anchorome a safe, law abiding city, and to defend the cause of good and seek and destroy evil where they find it.
