The Game Info reads:

Pale Master
Every other level from 1 to 10 and all levels over 10 count towards casterlevel of arcane spells, though only for purpose of duration and effect, not spellpenetration.


Is the normal spell progression stay the same, i.e., you still only gain a spell level every odd level? For example: a Wiz 3 Plm 24 will have 22nd level for duration and effect, but only have a effective caster level of 15.

Then I just wonder, was there never a good fix (or at all) on making palemaster work for getting known spells every odd level so sor / plm / !#? builds would work without needing 20 sor levels?

We can only look at effects after the player has leveled. The level up GUI is hardcoded afaik. The effect and duration were easy to change so we did that to try to give the class more uses. Some of those summons have pretty good spells, sylvan lich can kill most things if he isnt getting pounded.
