Ellidy's wedding poetry

The first poem for Shana and Jodro was written by Jeff with thanks to Sappho. Madeleine wrote the other wedding poetry and claims ownership and copyright and all that stuff in case she wants to use any of it elsewhere.)

For Shana and Jodro's wedding.

----- ------ ------ ------ ------

Dawn smiles upon you, blessed bride,
favored by Lathander,
shining with joy.
The groom stands ready, offering his heart.
He gives it freely, as you give yours.
Two pairs of eyes reflect the daybreak,
look into the future,
two souls together.
Two bodies join in sacred union.
In bliss, you dally.
In love, you live.

---- ------- ----- ------ -------

The dawn wind blows my thoughts to you.
The sunrise lights your eyes.
Birds sing their dawn chorus.
We wake to love.

Silently the sun rises.
Sweetly the birds sing.
Swiftly love secures love
Solace in safety.

Heart in heart held,
Here both are hand fast.
Home in happiness.
Heat warms our hearth.

Love secures love
Solace in safety
Strong as the sunlight
Sweet as birds' song.

For Amelia and Kano's wedding.

----- ------ ------ ------ ------

Star in a cloud,
Shine in your nimbus of purple and blue,
Imbue us with love.

See where your child stands,
Heart drenched in longing.
Requite her with joy.
See where her love stands,
Heart drenched in longing.
Requite him with joy.

Renewing faith, ever springing.
Sweetly it flows, loving heart to loving heart.

---- ------- ----- ------ -------

Here no contention
But sparring in happy battle.
This language requires no interpretation.
Each movement means itself completely.
Here to test, to love, to learn,
To encompass all themselves,
Beyond thought,
Bodies honed to perfect expression.

The music:
Feet striking
Wings beating
Blades clashing
Breath rising

Two dancers in one dance.
