Haakons keep
Gorag the wizard sat by the campfire continplateing when a man stumbled into his view. The man was hagard and malnurished. Gorag found out that the man was from a keep to the south and that the people there were starving.
He took the man to the dwarves home and fed him where he found out from the dwarves that the village might have food for the others at the keep.
Gorag wandered to the village avoiding minators and other dangerous creatures finding jodro, shana and meti in the inn.
He told them of the mans plight and got them to come to the vales to help the man.
when they got back to the vales they discussed everythign about the keep how desora had broken her leg and the others were gone a week seeking food. the only people in the keep about 20 or so were the commoners that were refugees of the zoo.
Gorag needed to rest so Shana and Jodro went down to the keep hunting and dressing a bear for them to eat.
The people of the keep were very greatful for their efforts and thier help. Shana mended Desoras leg and Jodro helped cook meat with George to feed them. The villagers should now have serveral weeks of bear to eat due to the combined generosity of Gorag, Jodro and shana
During their 'visit' to the keep south of the southern pine forest, Jodro and Shana asked the 'refugees' what they did all day since the room the pair saw was filthy and the refugees didn't hunt or gather food by their own admission. The reply that they just sat around the fire all day doing nothing shocked the couple. Shana asked about cleaning, especially considering the children and the chance for disease and illness. The spokesman for the refugee merely shrugged off her question mumbling something about a lack of anything to clean with.
Shana was shaking her head when the left the keep, unable to believe that the refugees, that was proported to include a smith, a carpenter, a shopkeeper and a bunch of 'housewives', couldn't manage to fashion any furniture or even keep the room they used clean. They seemed to expect others to do absolutely everything for them without having to even clean up after themselves.
A few days later, Shana returned to the keep. The refugees were excited to see her, expecting more free handouts. Instead she gave them several buckets, brooms, mops, rags, brushes and soap. "Now you have the necessary supplies to keep yourselves and the area you live in clean. Removing the filth will help fend off disease and illness and the exercise of cleaning will help keep you warm and healthy." With that, Shana bid them good day and excused herself, while the remained there, still gaping at her words.
Shana and Jodro returned to the keep to check up on the refugees and were pleased to see they'd made use of the cleaning supplies. The former shopkeeper they'd spoken with last time was seated by the fire but a woman who was a former teacher greeted them warmly, thanking them for supplies. Shana called upon Lathander and cast a spell to create enough food to feed everybody in the keep, not just the refugees, three generous meals. The former school teacher was obvious the prime mover in the group and had organized everybody. They were starting to forage for supplies around the keep, gathering wood from the siege engines and fish from the fast moving cold waters of the stream.
While Shana helped with the meal and healing supplies, Jodro went hunting for some game and brought back a large bear for meat. Before leaving Shana asked if there were any other supplies they needed and agreed to bring clothes, smithing supplies, and some books suitable for the children up on her return.
