Holy Writ of Pelora

Before Time There were the Great Outer Planes Encompassing a vast darkness. the beings of the planes of goodness looked at the darkness and said, We can create something from the darkness with purpose and life. Let life and light flow thoughout the darkness filling it with goodness and peace.

These beings sent the Goddess Pelora into the darkness. She shed light and hope into the vast reaches, creating the prime , Thus the universe was created.

Pelora looked around herself at all the stars and orbs of the Universe. She smiled to herself, " Yes", she said this is a good thing, but more needs done.

Cupping her hands against her chest, she created Sol. the great sun that spins around our world. Alas Her creation was not yet complete.

She called to her Mystra The Goddess of all that is magic and together; they created The great Orb we dwell on Sierra Na.

They together with the many gods created the many elder races.

For many centuries these races lived in peace and happiness.

The Gods of the dark and desprate reaches looked upon the new creation in jealousy, lust and hate. They spent their time thinking of ways to take and destroy the new things the Gods of the higher planes created. When they were ready they sent the God Orcus ruler of undead into the new creation with a plan.

Orcus Arrived causing chaos and strife all about Sierra Na. He brought many followers too him those of weak mind among the Elder races and with him brought other terrible beings from the lower planes, thus started the God wars.

Pelora with the Gods of light Wared with Orcus and his gods of darkness along all of the world and beyound. In the fray the high magics they used in their battles created the regions called the inner planes. The war lasted centuries. In the end with many dead both mortal and immortal the Gods called a halt for no one could win and everyone had lost. The Gods of light retreated to their planes. the Gods of darkness slunk back to the dark reaches of the lower planes.

In time Pelora came back to her creation and nurtured her people back but it is a never ceasing battle to beat back the hordes of undead That Orcus created and his followers.

Orcus
God of Undeath

Depicted as an extremely fat humanoid with ram horns, glowing red eyes and carrying a mace of immense power; Orcus is revered as the prince of undead. He Promotes Undeath and its transition rather than a new existance in the outer planes. His evil constantly trys to spread across the land in the form of his minnions. His eternal foe is Pelora, who holds his advances back with her cleansing light.

Power: Greater diety

The Holy Words of His Dark Magisty

At the begining of existance was His Dark magisty Orcus. The God became increasingly lonely. He created the Great ring of planes called the outer reaches and populated it with his creations, his children, The lesser Gods. Afterwitch he rested in the center of all the planes a cool dark place devoid of anything.

For a time he was satisfied. As all things seek to create more, Orcus found this emptiness unsatisfactory. He thus created the prime universes to further fill his existance. It was dark and cool, Inviting. He then created the Elder races and lived among them, guideing them in their newfound lives.

He created a system of ascension. When a living being died, If they were worthy they would move on in the transition of undeath. After many centuries of learning they would then ascend to greater things. All seemed right and whole in the muti-universe that he created.

Alas Things were not right in whole, for his children the lesser gods led by the traitorous villian Pelora, grew jealous and spiteful of the lesser beings Orcus created. The rebeled seeking to destroy all that he wought in the prime universe. Pelora created the Burning light of sol to sear his mortal children to dust.

Our Valiant Lord created an army of noble demons to defeat his wayward children starting the God Wars. The fought for centurys the mortal children of his dreams were the victums for the Gods had power. Orcus seeing these circumstances called the gods too him.

He pleaded with them and took up his power createing the inner planes. He told them that these new planes could become a buffer zone between the lesser gods and the mortal realms. This infuriated the lesser gods further and thus more war insued.

After several more centurys through fatigue on both sides the war ended The rebels were cast to the planes of light and His Noble Lord with his armys retired to the dark cool reaches of the lower planes.

Now a mortal cold war ensues Against his Noble Majesty in the for of mortals that follow the reble gods.

Kane, Who is he? What does he want, or is he just a ledgend?
There are many rumors thoughout history of a man named Kane.
Always the same: A Huge man with flowing red hair and blue
eyes touched with insanity. Is he one man or many that take
up a mantle? Noone really knows.

They say at the dawn of time Kane was one of the first humans.
The Ancient god, whose name is lost in time, who created humans
kept them close, ignorant, blissful. Kane rebeled agianst
these ideas. He created havok amonst these first humans, The
God in his wrath against Kane cursed him with immortality, but
this was not enough. The God then placed a mark upon kane's
eyes to show the rest of man the destrutctive nature of free
will. Kane's eyes are the eyes of a murderer and show the tinge
of insanity behind them. This is known as the mark of Kane

Of the rumors, Documentation, and scrolls on this person or
persons; I will write what I've uncovered. That is I will write
what little there seems to be about this being.

In the first known human city Ambythseeta There lived a necromancer
by the name of Kane. By the few writings that have been unearthed,
this kane experimented on women to some end. Shortly
after that time Ambythseeta ceased to exist.

In The year 525 sp, There was a pirate captain that controlled
all of the Merloric Ocean. His ships ravaged the coastlines from
what was once Ambythseeta to the northern shores of Rock Point.
During his Reign of terror he encoutered the the Aboeth a
star fallen race of ancient power that used sinking ships to
pry the waters. They made a pact to destroy all shipping that
dint pay tribute to the Alliance they created on the Island chain
of Taunee'ar. the countries of the west formed their own
Alliance. For two years they worked to build battle galleons.
When ready they set sail for the Island chain to battle
The Aboeth and their ally. The fleets met and a horrendous
battle ensued the Aboeth sank ships from under the water while
The pirate captain charged into the fray with his ships.
It seemed as though the Taunee'ar alliance would win the day
when something extrodenary happened. The pirate Captain turned
on his allies and helped the western nations defeat the Aboeth.
When the battle was over only a few Western alliance and pirate ships
remained. There was no sign of the pirate captains ship,
" The Mordi'fey", or her captain The Pirate Kane.

Between the years of 940-1200 ap there arose a sect of mages
called the 12 of twilight. This powerful group secretly seeded
all the goverments of man to war among themselves. Their plan
was to take the goverments of the humans not directly but to be
seen as saviors when the chaos ensued. The plan however failed
A traitor among the apprentices informed Rock point of the plan
thus with the element of surprise broken the 12 of twilight were
uprooted and destroyed all that is accept their leader. Very
shortly the apprentice was seen taken away by a man in black
riding a nightmare. They say it was the infamous leader of
the 12 of twilight Kane the black.

There are other referances of Kane scattered thoughout the known
Kingdoms that I am sure of however getting ones hands on such
manuscripts is......

*Blood smires the rest of the pages making them unreadable*

There was a Time in history that elves ruled much of the lands and traded with many of the first races.
There was peace upon the land and The elves split into many nations and developed their own culturers. this
was when the gods walked the earth with their peoples.

Corellen and his Wife Araushunee ruled the kingdoms of Tyeananla and Millvamleala respectfully. Their
son and daughter vhaeraun and Eilistraee ruled the kingdomes of Cillowanirea and eleccasilva. there
were many other nations spread across the whole of Sierra Na lead by the gods Solonar, Aerdrie faena,
Erevan Ilesere, and Hanali Celanil

Things were to change to break the peace.

The first thing that disturbed the pantheon was a deal made between the dieties Araushunee and
the dragon goddess Tiamat to create the race of the elder fey 'ri. This disturbed the whole of the
elven pantheon and started Araushunee on the road of disaster.

For many centuries things stablized of sorts though Corellen and Araushunee saw less of eachother.
The fey ri guarded the nations of millvanleala, Dillowanirea and Eleccasilva. Tensions developed
with the fiend spawn and the rest of the elven nations.

the Three gods became restless and so too their people. Araushunnee corrupted by those around her
and her royal guards the elf-fiends sought to unseat corellen as head of the pantheon and made
war with the nations.

the Three gods became restless and so too their people. Araushunnee corrupted by those around her
and her royal guards the elf-fiends sought to unseat corellen as head of the pantheon and made
war with the nations.

There were many battles and forest burnings over the centuries until at last the other elven nations
formed a contingent of their strongest people both in the art of war and sorcery and marched on the
countries of the dark three.

The Battle of Haster downs was the greatest battle ever seen on Sierra Na. Araushunnees elder fey 'ri devastated
the elves by the thousands and so to did the elves give back. Seeing the carnage on the 5th day of battle
Araushunnee relized the error of her ways.

She made council with Vhaeraun and Eilistraee. They were aghast at Araushunees new attitude so corrupted had
they become that they tried to slay her in the council chamber itself. She escaped and fled to corellen
with one fey ri by the name of Aikito Tansu of house thadrak. She pleadged to bring their people back
to the ways of the elves.

on the sixed day of battle the nation of Millvanleala turned on their allies to beat them back into
the mountains of Morzel. Because of Araushunnees repentance the elven nations had won the battle

The mages surrounded the survivers of the renigade nations and encased them in a mountain valley
far from the nations of elves: half-way around sierra na. Corellen himself cursed them to become the drow.
The mountains surrounding the valley are too high for the fey ri to fly over. The only passage was
though the mysterious underdark.

Araushunnee seeking pentance for her sins sent her people the Millvamlealains deep into underdark
to guard the passages that leads to the valley. They are the dark elves a somber and reclusive peoples
much more serious in look and intent than most elves.

Since then a few drow and fey ri have broken though from time to time but always the combined forces
of araushunees dark elves and the line of her one loyal guard have stopped them at some point along the way.

one side effect of the battle was that a contingent from the elven nation of llelicel got discussed
with the mess of elf fighting elf and left. they migrated north and were never seen again some say
they became the snow elves that live beyond the passage of emeralds gate.

Ralishaz
The Unlooked For
God of Chance, Misfortune, Madness
Patron of Thieves and Gamblers

Ralishaz is often depicted as a young man with wearing multicolored robes. He tends to take any form that suits him at any particular time. This makes him one of the most difficult Gods to recognize. The origins of this god are largely unknown. However there are a few things known about him and a vague story or two that are accepted as truth. He was once a poor man, and a thief. Over many years he became very skilled at his trade and built up a small fortune. One day a man offered to play him in a game of chance. The wager was small so of course Ralishaz agreed. Ralishaz won the first game and was offered the chance to play again. He said yes and won yet again. And so he played again and again with new opponents. Soon he was addicted to gambling. His luck was legendary and soon he was risking his entire fortune in games of chance. His opponents would always tell him that his luck would not last forever and one day Ralishaz discovered they were right. In one fell swoop he lost his entire fortune that took half a lifetime to obtain. The man that beat him was a young, rich, and arrogant noble who always boasted that he defeated the great Ralishaz.

Consumed by his anger at such a defeat Ralishaz swore revenge. So great was his desire to bring misfortune upon he who had beaten him that he made it is life long goal to learn everyway of tricking and deceiving people possible. He even turned to the powers of dark magics to help. Over time his desire to see rich gamblers lose every cent to their name drove him to madness. In a way his quest did pay off. He became skilled at manipulating people and changing the outcomes of games of chance. It wasn’t long before people noticed the trend. Many began to fear him. Some began to hate him. Most avoided him. Others came to him for help. To teach them his tricks and powers. They were his cult. They gave him the name “The Unlooked For.” Over time they began to worship him as a God. And a God he became.

Power: Lesser God
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Symbol: Three bone sticks
Home plane: None…goes where he likes when he likes
Worshipers: Thieves, gamblers, con men, the insane

Tarsellis is the main diety of the Snow elves. He is a hunter in the cold wastes of the north. once upon a time he was friends with solonar thiandira but they had a fight over Araushunee long before she and corellon wed.

this drove a rift between the two that never healed during the elven wars the snow elves abandoned the battefields sickened by elven blood spilled by elves. they found solace in Tarsellis and the cold northern moutains and wastes.

Tarsellis is a chaotic nuetral lesser power. his worshippers are almost entirely snow elves a few non snowelves however pay tribute to him as they journey into the mountains.

ussera
The Moon Lady
Goddess of the waters of Sierra Na
Dream bringer
Light in darkness

In the first ray of moonlight on the waters of Sierra Na, Sussera became aware of her existence as something more than light, wind, and water. Her voice sang with the winds, with the gurgle of rivulets, the rush of waterfalls, the waves of lakes and oceans. She made her domain in halls she dreamed on the moon and beneath the sea.
Many dwarves love her because the light of Sussera can shine from the waters of the deepest cavern with the brightness of moonlight on dark water.
Elves love her voice in the water, her light on the forests and the snow.
Poets, musicians, sailors, fisherfolk, bards, artists, mages, and kindly rogues are often devotees of Sussera.
Shapeshifters, cats and cat kindred, wolves, and dogs love her light.
Parents pray to her to keep their children from nightmares.
Farmers pray to her for rain.
Those in search of visions call on her.
Poets long to walk the moon path to her halls.

Sussera generally appears as a luminously pale female elf with black hair, a water nymph, or a willow the wisp. She is chaotic neutral. Her portfolio is Water, Air, Knowledge, and Magic--especially divination, transmutation, and illusion. Her favored weapons are dagger and shortbow. Her symbol is a silver full moon on a prussian blue sky, the moon path shining pale silver on the calm midnight blue sea.

Amalda

Daisery Meadowmallow trained as a ranger in her youth, protecting her tiny halfling village in its little gorge. Her beloved companion, the panther Miro, accompanied her everywhere.

One morning, the two were walking through a ferny glade. They delighted in the sunlight and the sweet green smell.

A young halfling walked toward them. Daisery recognized her divinity and knelt before her.

"Rise, Daisery. I am Amalda, your goddess."

And Daisery's life changed.

The young minor deity explained that she had come into awareness after the first halflings settled in the little pocket gorge.

"I think perhaps I am the gorge," she said.

Daisery built the little goddess a shrine. The villagers prayed to Amalda and she loved and cared for them.

Then the disappearance happened. Times were hard. Daisery, who had become a priestess of Amalda, did her best to protect her people. The little goddess tried to help, but she was young in power and the forces against them were very great.

After long resistance, Daisery, Miro, and the little halfling settlement they protected were killed by humanoids.

Amalda was heartbroken.

She retreated from the the visible world of Sierra Na into the other planar form of the pocket gorge. But the shrine Daisery built her little goddess still stands, undecaying. The tiny gorge is still beautiful. Perhaps Amalda waits, patiently, for halflings and other creatures of good will to return.

Torm
Ambassador of Haakon,
Teacher of duty, loyalty, and obedience.

Torm serves under Haakon as an ambassador when Haakon is dealing with other issues. Since Torm still has the memories of his godhood in Toril, he also acts as a counselor to Haakon. He is quite humble because of his low position in the pantheon, and he often acts like a mortal.

See also:
Torm's local history
Torm's story in Toril

Titles: The True, the True Deity, the Loyal Fury
Power: minor diety
Symbol: Right-hand gauntlet held upright with palm forward
Home plane: Sierra Na
Portfolio: duty, loyalty, obedience, paladins
Worshippers: paladins and other knights
Domains: Good, Healing, Law, Protection, Strength
Favored weapon: Duty's Bond (greatsword)

Torm’s clerics often wear gray to white armor with dark blue trim, in a similar style to Haakon.

Perhaps you are sitting on a trail along a mountain, looking down at a glacial lake in a U-shaped valley. The sheer size of the view is more than can be seen at once, let alone painted. The trees are green, the peaks are white, and the sky is blue. Watching far-away waterfalls and the occasional wildlife adds to the beauty. The sun beats hard with little atmosphere protecting you, but you don’t care; the scene is just too perfect.

Maybe you have been traveling all day and you stop to rest near a river. It’s early summer, so the vegetation is lush green, pushing as far over the water as it can. The current is slow, causing no waves. A dragonfly skims the water, hunting desperately for nonexistent mosquitoes. The temperature is perfect.

There is a power in both of these; a surreal beauty that causes people to stop and stare. In the distant past, an elven druid managed to harness this power, setting herself up as a god. She quickly found out that her power needs balance to be at its strongest. Without anyone to appreciate the beauty of wilderness, she had no power. With too many people, there was little wilderness left to appreciate and her power waned. She was one of the gods who strongly supported repopulating the world.
