CTP_Common

Post by Bannor Bloodfist »

.

CTP_Common and CTP_Control. These are 2 .haks that MUST BE INCLUDED with any of the other sets from the CTP into ANY module created to use a CTP tileset.

CTP_Common.hak - This has textures for those tiles that you find in mutliple sets. Things like the Airships. So, where possible, if a texture is used in more than 2 sets, it should have been moved into this common location. This will help to greatly reduce total size of the CTP releases. This file may also contains doors that are used throughout the sets along with skyboxes and loadscreens.

So what does all this mean to you the builder OR you the player?

That ONE hak file is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED for ANY TILESET to work! If you wish to only use the CTP_BlackDesert set, you will still need to have this file in your hak directory AND in your mod.

CTP_COMMON.HAK <<-- What is it?

Post by Bannor Bloodfist »

This hak has textures for those tiles that you find in mutliple sets. Things like the Airships, or the grass tiles or even buildings that are used in multiple locations.

So, where possible, if a texture is used in more than 2 sets, it should have been moved into this common location. This will help to greatly reduce total size of the CTP releases.

This file also contains tileset specific doors that are used throughout the sets.

This file _may_ contain loadscreens and/or skyboxes as well, but we may split them into their own hak file to eliminate unecessary downloads during patches.

This file is absolutely REQUIRED to be able to use all of the tilesets released by the CTP team.

This file also contains:

the Loadscreen.2DA file contains information for loadscreens for all of our sets.

the AreaG.INI controls default settings for lighting, and sound effects in each set. (All of which can be overriden by the individual builder during the building phase.

Why are these files seperated from the individual tilesets instead of just being buried within the tileset itself?

By having these files seperate, if give the Community Tileset Pack team the ability to make fixes to the entire CTP release or individual tilesets from that release at any time by only forcing you to download the files listed here and the individual tileset that is patched.

Otherwise, any changes may, and probably would, require a complete re-download of the entire CTP release. (Who wants to do that just to fix a single tileset?)

However, this does mean that this file is one of the files that WILL change with each update. We will do our best to keep these files as small as possible and to make sure as few changes occur to these files as is possible.

This file is absolutely REQUIRED to be able to use all of the tilesets released by the CTP team.

CTP_Common has been updated to version 1.3 to make it comptable with Bioware's 1.69 patch.

The ONLY two files changed were the doortypes.2da and areag.ini files to reflect new tilesets and doors added by Bioware.

This file can be found on the main CTP Release One page from the vault.

CTP_Common has been updated to version 1.5 on the vault. Special thanks go to Daijin who found and reported one missing door in our doortypes.2da fixed for the 1.69 update.

Sorry folks. If you have downloaded 1.3 or 1.4, PLEASE grab 1.5 to fix the compatibility issue with Bioware's 1.69 final patch.
