AFAIK Granny 3D is only used for animations. Sorry to derail this thread even further.

Back on track. Like I said, I'm waiting for CTP rural tilsets to be released before I work on building areas again. They may have some nice groups or what-not that I could use. Like houses that rotate 10 degrees instead of 90. I'm sick, really sick, of having to make roads at 90 degree angles and houses do the same. I have the first part of Ashabenford done, almost exactly like the map in the Forgotten Realms Atlas. I had to use the CEP placeable roads, and work with their z-axis a lot to make them look good, but the final result is awesome.
You know, the ONLY reason I am using an FR location that is not on the maps is threefold:

1) I tried to make a "verbatim" Waterdeep.... that is a project of such maddening scope and impossibility that it can kill one's interest in NWN for up to 1 year.

2) Hardcore gamers have the maps. Flat out. That makes exploration useless and everyone will know where the good dungeons are if you ape the modules and maps completely. This may be ok for your purposes, but not for mine.

3) I needed to be creative, also the FR is TOO BIG to recreate with any level of either detail or range without 15,000 areas or more... which doesn't happen except on multi-module-clusters, which is beyond my ability to create.

Just beware, the FR is a slippery slope to recreate as faithfully as the true fan may wish. Specific areas can have great success, as well as areas with few to no maps .... I just put in a lost continent... :)

Bull. FRCS Page 231.. there are 6 "Unknown Lands" continents.. Maztica lies on the lower half, or maybe even third.. of one of these continents.

And your right.. Hardcore gamers do have maps.

As old as the guide and maps are, there's no reason why you can't have things not on the map, and in Mistledale, there just aren't many places noted on the map. Cormanthor is huge, and with the elves just returning, many things could be inhabiting the forests. Not to mention, the ruins of Myth Drannor lie just beyond the border. The maps are not so specific that some things couldn't be added. Hidden places, access to the underdark, old ghost holds, zhentarim conclaves, and the Vale of Lost Voices hasn't been charted. I'll use the map to put down what it shows, but nothing stops you from putting things in that the map may have left out.

Well, accoding to Maps-R-Us, a sub-division of Acme Inc, Maztica can be found in a couple of different locations. All of which assume that you wish to find the location of your future beheading and/or that you wish to 'donate' your still beating heart to a God known for his hunger and thirst for fresh blood.

Ah, bloody Zaltec will struggle against the rebel Quetzalcoatl for dominance in the sweltering streets of tropical Zhi'Onalan.

Truly macas will drip with the lifeblood of heretics!
Im looking currently for someone building a PW and planning on doing it entirely with the CTP when it's released.(I cant take the basic tilesets anymore...so boring.)
I am a great builder and can produce beautiful looking maps.(I got some maps made up if you need to view.)
I have no experience in scripting or coding.
I have about 16 hours a day freetime thanks to all holy god.
I need to work on a NWN project before I go crazy.Honestly I spent about 500 hours in the editor just making maps for fun.I just love building and this was the best thing I could find.I've probably played actual modules and games for about 3-4 hours. Most of my ingame time is testing maps.
The reason I dont like playing PW's currently is the repetitive nature of them.
I know they all have impressive exclusive content but I havent found one for me and thats why I'd like to help make one.I've got some great ideas for a PW but have noone to help scripting and coding wise(Which I realise is the hardest part.)
So if your interested in getting together on a PW and need a great map builder drop me a message.I would also prefer a group or person who plans on using the newest versions of the CEP and PRC if possible.I hate having only like 10-20 classes to choose from. The PRC is amazing and especially useful if itll be compatible with the CTP and CEP.
Cross posting, Fails the first criteria("Im looking currently for someone building a PW and planning on doing it entirely with the CTP when it's released."), but may be of intrest.

Myself, I use a homebrew world and don't even bother futzing around with the Realms. I don't have to worry about players grumbling about canon errors. :)
