Lord Rosenkrantz How are things going on the New Mountain Tileset? Have not heard anything from you in a while, just a status check as I eagerly await your newest set.

Things are moving forward, no worries. I am currently adding tile variations to the terrains I got already, and creating merging tiles for terrain/crossers combos. Since there aren't new terrain types to show, it's pointless to post new screenies that wouldn't add much to what's already known of the tileset visuals.
But under the ashes the fire is burning, no worries

Btw, I kinda changed my mind about adding some TNO features to it, namely castle terrains. Since I am sure it'd be welcomed by the tiny builder community that is sticking with nwn1, I think the "purity" of the mountains tileset could be sacrificed on the altar of a wider range of building options.

I am waiting to find out when (and at this point IF) patch 1.69 is going to see the light, as I'd need to use a final version of TNO to extract the needed content

Alrighto, let's start posting screenshots of the raised terrain.

Be aware that the cake-layer effect is still visible at this stage, as I still need to create the "edge fixer crosser" tiles that will totally get rid of it.

Hopefully later today or tomorrow I'll be posting new screenies with more advanced features <_<

I hope you guys like the path I decided to take with raising terrain by a high steep, as it gives a unique feeling of real z-axis extention. Generally, among the reasons why raised terrains give the cake layer feeling there is also the fact they aren't raised enough, so to get a decent height you need to place a few layers, with the further drawback that the top and bottom edge layers are too far away and don't give an actual height impression.

Incidentally, this approach will make easier to create those blank tiles for "placeable area map models" that some posts ago were requested by OMB.

Looks really great. I downloaded a version of this earlier (the one linked to from this thread I think), but is there a more recent version available for testing? :)

I hope this becomes a part of the CTP :D

See.. every time I see awsome work like this, I want to rip my PW apart and rebuild it with the new tileset. Won't you guys stop? Give me a break!

Seriously, that is some very sweet work. I'm really looking forward to seeing a finished version that just might fall into our PW haks somewhere along the lines... I can see me redoing mountains, again... ;)
