Yeah, congrats to all the daddies-to-be out there.
4. In regards to professional versus community content, I am with you on the fact I wish there was more community content to choose from. In all honesty, there isn't. I listened to some really BAAAAAAAAAAD stuff on the vault. Keep in mind too, that I may have played music critic a little as well since things like techno or cyberpunk or other such music I deemed as not fitting well into a fantasy RPG setting.
Heh, I see what you mean. Personally I would have liked to see some cyberpunk-ish music for my own uses, but then it gets too specific... I also would have liked to see some modern content in CEP/CTP, but I know it's not gonna happen because the absolute majority of people aren't gonna use that. Builders looking for such specific content will probably learn how to create their own haks anyway.
But anyway, I like the ideas I'm seeing here to expand this, such as making a low fidelity version of the pack, adding battle music, etc.. and there *is* some good music out there that needs a bit of volume tweaking and such things, if it is at all possible.
Like I said on my other post, you have the right idea. Was good to see the big ad on the Vault, now people are beggining to see this. Visibility's important if these community packages are to attain the same success of CEP.
As for a Sound pack... NWN certainly needs a lot of that stuff, especially voicesets as someone mentioned before... but I'm pretty sure there are very, very few properly set up voicesets in the Vault, with good recording and all the dialogue entries, etc.. if one were to make new voicesets it would be another matter, but there's a completely different level of work involved in that.
Anyway... let the brainstorming continue.
