Physical descriptions

Irda as I said are extraordinarily beautiful. I have often said that in their natural forms the females have a form and face and elven princess would die for. That’s just how beautiful they are. The men are exceedingly handsome. Their beauty though has a cold sculpted elegance unlike elves who’s beauty is warm and inviting. If they stand still, you might even think they were sculpted from a piece of blue or green marble. This sets them very much apart from other races.

Their bodies are firm but also willowing giving them an elven grace like motion. Most are extremely dexterous apart from Fawn who is clumsy and constantly looks for things to support her, so she doesn’t trip over a sheet of paper. Fawn though has a unique heritage as most that read this article know.

Their skin tones range from midnight blue to deep sea green. Most artists that draw them make their skin color sky blue but that’s a misnomer. There are endless variations between those ranges. Now I made Fawn’s skin tone sky blue, but I made her son Brath’s skin tone emerald-green.

An Irda’s eyes are large and luminous. Most have silver eyes especially those that come from lines of high magic for all Irda can become sorcerers if they want. There also cases of irda having deep blue or green eyes but that is rarer. They all have drooping eyelids that give them a serene, distant look. Some would even say a bored expression. I don’t often mention this directly in the book but some of Miwa’s and Fawn’s conversations in the children of hell books show this with Miwa’s frustration when she talks to the Irda.

Like their bodies their facial features look almost marble-like. They are fine and symmetrical. Their ears are subtly pointed. People that see them in their natural form are often unsettled because they often look distant and cold. It’s not because they are. It’s more due to their emotional restraint.

Irda dress in simple, elegant garments. They prefer silk when they can get it. If they can’t they will where plant-based fabrics like cotton. They will never wear anything made with an animal. (They may also spray paint your fur coat…. I’m kidding). They are strict vegetarians, except for Fawn who was raised to think she was a half-elf.

Most Irda stand around 6ft tall, but males can reach up to or even slightly past 7 ft.

High Ogres ( Their Ancestors)
The High Ogres were even more magnificent—taller, radiant, and almost angelic in appearance. Their skin could be any imaginable color, their beauty overwhelming, and their presence awe‑inspiring. Irda have only a fraction of this celestial splendor. Mischta look almost exactly like Irda, but they have more wild features. It may be from their ability to shape shift into animal forms instead of humanoid forms.
Nzunta retain the full majesty of the High Ogres: tall, flawless, and terrifyingly beautiful. Their skin tones range from dark brown to pitch black, and their presence is cold, predatory, and aristocratic.

I’ll use Fawn as an example

Fawn is 6’1” tall. She has sky-blue skin, long silver curls that go down to her waist. She does have mismatched eyes for a time because of a curse. However, when she started adventuring her eyes were silver. Her natural form is slender, willowy and strong with the cold beauty typical of her people. Her body is covered in glowing moonlight tattoos carved by Selûne, each depicting one of the animal forms she can assume. These markings appear only in her true Irda shape.
