New working title (A field of Lilies)

Post by Winterhawk99 »

Starting a new short novel centering on the character Lauriella Sithmore. With a little bit of clean up I may be able to sell this one for 5 bucks or so after some lore clean up. It will be rather short but hopefully heart filled. Perhaps between 20-25,000 words. I have the first two chapters written. I'll let everyone know of my progress.

Re: Letters of love lost

there will be 20 chapters with and epilogue, and an intermission which will be very different from the main body. Ive already completed 3 of the chapters. Each chapter is a small description of who is reading and writing their letter and the letter itself. So about only 1,000 words per chapter. something new for me.

The good thing is im on it again. want to finish this up so can start the last book in the children of hell trilogy but have to wait to both have time and am ready to write well. NO im not procrastinating...........ok maybe a little but its a short book. :)

finished chapter 7 today so im moving on. even if slowly. so far the novel is abouy 7,500 words so im mostly sticking to parameters of a 1000 words per chapter. this last was a long chapter for this book. i'll have alot of editing to do because im writting letters of two different people their words should be very different. this is more challenging than I thought at first but my wife Angel is helping me by pointing out any mistakes of similar tenor between the two women writing the letters.

Finished chapter 8 today. Never thought that I would write a book like this but its looking good. rough but good. the next chapter should be rather easy. Writing in this style of writing is a bit taxing. I'm enjoying the challenge. It will probably be the last of this type of Novel I will write but who knows. if folk like it I may write something similar down the road. Current word count is around 8,450 so I'm staying within limitations fairly well.

Finished chapter 9 tonight. 9,840 words. With shooting season in full bore and all the other things going on at the moment writing is hard. I am almost 1/2 though the rough draft so thats a good thing. Just maybe will get this out for the Christmas season. :)

Chapter 10 is finished. That's almost the halfway point. I have an intermission where things change drastically then 10 more chapters and an epilogue. It's been fun writing it so far. I'll keep everyone up to date. :)

howdy everyone. its October and I have completed the intermission of my 3rd novel. The working title is 'A field of Lilies." It marks the half-way point of the rough draft.

This novel is very different from my other two books. It is not connected to the Children of Hell series. I will complete the last book of that trilogy after putting this one out. Unlike Children of hell I was careful to make this short novel have a general background instead of placing it on Toril. Which means I have something I can sell perhaps if I choose too for 2 or 5 bucks a copy.

Another feature is that about a 1/3 to 1/2 the book is written in cursive. I have a very good reason to write it in that form. I know many cannot read cursive so I will be making a second non-cursive book. If you can read cursive I believe you will enjoy the cursive version much more than the non-cursive.

I am looking to complete the book by Christmas. We'll see. I'm a working stiff so time is always against me meeting deadlines. I am having a bunch of fun with this novel. The second children book was a bit strained because I pushed myself to completing it which in turn probably delayed its release. This one I'm more relaxed on.

I had Angel (my wife) review the intermission and she made some suggestions. I incorporated her advise into it and it is much, much better. I was coming close to the scene being x-rated and most that have read my writings know I'm not too hot on graphic stuff. Now it's come down to more of a pg-13 rating which is I feel is much better.

I then asked another to read the intermission because I still felt it was not good enough for the book. They loved it so I kept is as is for now.

So this is my update. I think everyone will be surprised on how different this book is from the two Children of Hell novels. I'll have more updates in the coming weeks :)

For those who have not read the first two novels, They are free fan fiction books that can be downloaded from my site. Here are the links:
