"Constanza! Some tiresome blue creatures have waylaid the courier
conveying our costumes. Do something about it, there's a dear."
Constanza sighed. It wasn't as though Alaria hadn't plenty of other
things to do. She'd been surprised at the elegant elf's building skills.
Alaria had done masonry, built walls, and even worked on plumbing.
When Constanza had looked at her in surprise, as Alaria stood in leather
leggings and tunic, spackling the gallery wall, Alaria laughed.
"It's surprising the skills you pick up as an itinerant theatrical
producer in 100 years or so, isn't it?'
Constanza went out into Lapis Commons to find help. First she found
Elurion in the Hall of Knowledge, Then there was Loborescuro, sitting
cozy by the campfire in Lapis Farmlands.
"Those horrible blue creatures have stolen our props and costumes!
Please get them back for us. Help stock the new theater."
Valiantly they went into the xvart caves, following a trail of tinsel
and bits of papier mache. Some of the xvarts had already torn into the
costume cases. Masked and made up, they battled the relentless heroes.
Finally Lob and Elurion found the remaining cases of costumes. They
returned them to Constanza, who thanked them effusively.
She put down the cases in the dressing room and went to help Alaria hang
pictures.
A costume caper
