Back in the saddle again (with new critters)

Post by Izk The Mad »

Wow, a lot has changed in the community since I was last here. I'm glad to see so many familiar names are still around. Real life and computer problems made me abandon NWN for a while, but I couldn't resist the urge to get back to it once I was able. I see this portion of these forums has been painfully quiet, so let's wake things up a little, shall we?

I've been quite busy with my projects these last few months, but I had decided I wouldn't come on here showing my stuff until I actually released something, and so I have. My skyboxes, as well as some creature reskins I've made, are currently (finally) awaiting approval on the Vault. I've also been fine tuning horses for release in the very near future.

I wanted to share some new stuff in the works. In particular, I made a couple horses based on a request I got last year by Olias Stormcrow, and seeing as how his inbox is apparently full, I'm posting the pics here in the hopes he'll see them.

Bahamut Horse, walnut version:

Golden Cup Horse, walnut version:

I've also made these, based on an idea I got from PHoD, made to go with mounted versions of Six's Undead Redux mummies:

What I was really hoping to show here though was some Outsider "Fiends" I've made. I don't know if anyone still reads this part of the forums, but I'd be really curious to hear what you guys think of them.

Bhaal Spawn, aka "The Slayer"

BG2 inspired Pit Fiend

The demon Eibon, in both normal and "empowered" versions

The Babylonian inspired arch-fiend known only as "She", based off Magma's Erinyes and the Kocrachon in CEP (from CODI, I think).

If anyone reads this, I'd welcome any and all feedback or comments.

Awesome stuff Izk. Many, many thanks for taking on my request. The dragon and chalice detailing on the horse armor is more than I could have hoped for. I love 'em. Please let me know when and where they'll be available to download.

Really nice work with the mummified horses and the demons as well. The thighs on the "She" model look a little spindly, perhaps it's the angle of the screenshot. Other than that, great stuff.

@Daijin, thanks!

@Olias, it was no problem. I enjoyed making them. My horses are next on the list, having just released my skies. I have one more I've been playing with for a while, but if I can't get it right, I'll be dumping the rest on the Vault without it. If you're only interested in those two, let me know. Maybe I can do something sooner. I still have to make a couple color variants for those two, but I set the texture up in layers so I can easily swap out the horse skin color with another. As for those thighs, yeah, I agree. I was thinking about going back to the original Erinyes thighs for that. Thanks for the feedback. :thumb:

This part of the forums is way too quiet these days. Thought I'd post some new pics. How about some strange NPC & creature models to stir things up a little?

"The Sisters of Mercy", made from Caladnei:

Sisters of Mercy "corrupted", inspired by the nurses in the early "Silent Hill" games, using Quantiko's zombie animations:

"Sister Lissa":

"Pickman" and fancy lich made from Lord Antoine:

I've been trying to make a lot of my NPCs into full creature models for uniqueness and performance reasons. I'm going to make custom soldiers and stuff like that to limit use of dynamics. There's a lot of stuff in the CODI models that I've been experimenting with too. These are pretty much done, but criticism and feedback always welcomed!
